WHEN IS FASHION WEEK?

If you're here, asking that question, it can mean only one thing:

 

You, my friend, are confused.

 

We can hardly blame you. So many fashion weeks, whirling around like a terrifying (or at very least, perplexing) children's mobile, suspended from the ceiling.

 

But we digress.

 

Fashion Week is a peculiar animal, created a long time ago in a place called New York. But essentially, it was created to give buyers and press a sneak peak at next season's collections.

 

Of course, nowadays, EVERYONE can watch fashion week.

 

But the point remains, that it's ..,. well, confusing.

 

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS :

• In Spring / Summer, the collections are shown for the NEXT Fall / Winter.
  
  
• And in Fall / Winter (you guessed it), the collections are shown for the NEXT Spring / Summer.
  
  
• So, New York Fashion Week (for example), taking place in February 2014, would be called "New York Fashion Week Fall / Winter 2014."
  
  
• And New York Fashion Week, taking place in September 2014, would be called "New York Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2015."

HEY, IT'S 2014!

The earth is probaby 20 degrees warmer, which isn't such a good thing. But since the polar ice caps have melted, places like New Orleans and Los Angeles make for some terrific fishing, if you don't mind the loss of history, culture and (in the case of LA), airbrushing. It's also, like, endless summer, and the new US national anthem sounds suspiciously like a Beach Boys song. Talk about putting a cheery face on things. We Americans are ridiculously resilient! Also, the Repulican Party is a little embarrassed about damning us all to hell.
